Shopping Walhalla Stockholm

People in Stockholm pay more taxes than other European citizens. But! That has many benefits! Free use of the subway and busses! A good mobile signal, everywhere! Even deep under the ground in the subway! And last but not least: A gigantic shopping area where thousands of stores are connected to each other. The government of Stockholm stimulates the buying behaviour of her citizens. Honestly, did we ever heard of a financial crisis in the Scandinavia countries?

I started this morning in the east of Stockholm: Östermalm. Sturegallerian is a classy shopping centre where business people and especially mothers and fathers who work in Östermalm, have a cup of coffee and have their meeting with their business partners at the lounge, bistro or patio of Le Café. Really nice example of the Urban Nomads.

Östermalm is well-known by the exclusive stores like Burberry, D&G, Tommy Hilfiger and Emporio Armani. But for the local youth there is a  street (Gatan) throughwards the Sergels Torg where al the big shopping malls meet at the lower floors of the Kulturhuset. From very exclusive (D&G) to urban chique (Diesel, Replay, ACNE) to mainstream  (H&M, ZARA). It sounds very nice, but in every shopping mall where typical Swedish stores are situated, they sell in there assortiment also the Urban Chique brands. So for the people how want to skip the mainstream stores, here a list of cool fashion stores with exclusive brands, interiour and history!


A small store right in the middle of the central shopping malls and Östermalm. It has a small entrance and the interior is unique and edgy. WeSC (We are the Superlative Conspiracy) has 28 concept stores across the world, also one in Amsterdam. WeSC (We are the Superlative Conspiracy), or We as it is casually known, is a Swedish clothing brand, based mainly on skateboarding influences and style. Founded in 1999, it has quickly become one of Sweden’s most popular brands, within Sweden as well as internationally.


Urban Outfitters!

At our school this store is mentioned many times of his unique history and interior. Urban Outfitters has been described as selling hip, kitschy, and ironic merchandise, for example, T-shirts emblazoned with the words “Jive Turkey” or “Atari”. According to their website, Urban Outfitters’ “established ability to understand our customers and connect with them on an emotional level is the reason for our success.” And that emotional level is visible in a great concept store at the Biblioteksgatan in Stockholm. I think the picture say enough about this really amazing store! Watch, assimilate and judge!
